Our little blue-eyed angel.

On the stairs outside of the Red Apple Cafe in Aptos. You love climbing up and down the stairs. It’s okay, you helped me work off the crab eggs benedict!

Splashing in the water fountain after breakfast.

You’ve got the best view on daddy’s shoulders. Suddenly you like wearing your sunglasses, especially when mommy and daddy have their’s on.

Walking down hallway, you stop at a small piece of tissue on the floor, stoop over, pluck it up. Turning to me with the scrap pinched between your fingers, you look up and exclaim “aaaiighh?” and proceed to the garbage can where you drop it very thoughtfully, almost as if in slow motion.
You wrap your arms around my neck and squeeeeze me so tight and it is the best feeling in the world. When you’re tired, the squeeze is often accompanied by little taps on my back.
When I’m sitting down and you want me to get up to do something with you, and the customary pointing and ‘aaaiggh-ing’ doesn’t work, you’ll put your hand on the side of my bottom and tap it repeatedly until I move!
You’re learning to get dressed. Here, you’ve pulled mommy’s shirt from a laundry basket. (Clean, at least.)
Brittany has been with us now over a year, and as you can see here, she cares so well for you. It’s good to always stop and smell the roses. You’re wearing a little red tutu that’s part of a mini-mouse outfit that Brittany bought you when she went to Disneyworld.

Keys please… I really like driving the convertible. Ever since daddy first put you in the driver’s seat, you’ve been clamoring at the door leading to the garage.

This is alot more difficult than it looks. Don’t try this at home.

It’s hard work but someone’s gotta do it!

“My new pony. I always wanted a pinto. He sings too.”

Today at the park, you started to run off in the opposite direction when mommy was trying to get us heading towards the bike. It was time to saddle up and ride home. You waved. I waved and turned, looking over my shoulder, a step later. You had no hesitation about your direction and went marching along quite happily through the grassy park field. I didn’t let you get too far … soon enough you thought better of your independent hike and turned to come along with me.

Yesterday you were back at Grandma and Grandpa’s for the afternoon. Grandma reported that you took an afternoon nap, and when you woke up you still had a dry diaper. She put you on the potty and you went, so you’re getting very good at ‘holding it’. We’re about to get rid of the diapers, or try at least, and have you in your ‘big girls’. You’re learning how to pull them down on your own.
Nolan came to play today, you hadn’t seen him for over 2 weeks while you were both away. You had a good time and were a little upset when he left.
My favorite things with you these days: watching how you observe, how fast you learn, how you love to mimic me, dad, grandparents, your doll, lambie-pie…! Playing hide and seek… you toddleledoo down the hallway and hide always in the same spot, beside the door, and we come looking for you. You can barely keep quiet and when we turn around to ‘find you’ you squeal.

You love to pick the tomatoes from daddy’s garden. Red ones, yellow ones, green ones. They’re all good. You pick’em off and proudly parade them back to the patio table one at a time, immediately turning back with a mission to get more.

This was taken the day after we got back from Toronto … see the beautiful pink hibiscus in full bloom. Your dad’s got a green thumb.

On a walk with your new ridealong push car… you love to turn the wheel and be in the driver’s seat. This was taken on Los Gatos Creek Trail, before we went on the old carousel.

With dad at Ridge Winery, for a picnic. You loved climbing the stairs and the ramp, and engaging with other kids and adults there. You’re very social.

I had to laugh. I’m driving along and we’re listening to one of your Music Together CD’s. I look in the rearview mirror and there you are, lip-syncing to the music. Nodding and bobbing your head to the tunes. Not making a sound, just moving your mouth as if you were singing. Funny Taite, how you make me smile!

Some favorite memories of Lake Caledon visit:

When you hear the word “Oma” you’d pipe up “Oppaaa!”

I’m behind on updates and photos… so trying to catch up and also capture some of your day-to-day cuteness.

It’s bathtime, and you run to find BathBaby (I’m not good at naming your dolls yet, and so they have practical names, ie, ones mommy can easily remember) . BathBaby needs to have her hair washed when you do, and as I rub the bubbles in your hair, you do hers. We sit her on the head of the bath duck that you bathe in, and when she’s ready to ‘dive in’ you raise your arms high in the air and a knowing grin comes across your face. 1 – 2 – 3… giggles!

We rode today to the park on mommy’s bicycle, you in the carrier on the back. I sing whatever I can think of, today it was “There were five in the bed….” and hope you don’t mind and that nobody passing by hears me. I hope when you grow up you can sing like your daddy and not the way I croon. I say to you “Fly like the birds” and you extend your arms out and raise them up and down.
Here’s a video from Caledon lake, you with Oma, splashing on the dock. It’s right after our first paddleboat ride.
Here are some more photos, I’m gradually getting them edited and uploaded.
Photos of Visit at Aunt Jenn’s cottage with your cousins, and also at Aunt Cathy’s.
